This is just a sneak peek of the Aube du Réveil, which you guys probably already know, will be in Chancellor’s point of view. Different problems btw.
Wind blew in all directions while the car twisted along the paths. The air, the sun, the perfect vacation seemed dashing. A straight road came up. I peeked at my love next to me, her hair a shiny glow of brown and her huge sunglasses covering her beautiful blue eyes. I laid a gentle hand upon hers. I felt her look up.
“Are you going to tell me where we are going?” She questioned. I cut off the thought of it in my mind, knowing she would be eager to drag it out at any cost.
“You’ll see.” I smiled up at her. I could tell the curiosity, biting at her. She crossed her legs and looked out the window, the lushes trees and growth surrounding the area. She looked back.
“Chance, please?” She asked in a “puppy dog” sort of way. I laughed.
“It’s a surprise, love.” Her obvious aura giving way she was aggravated. She looked at her phone, noticing she had a text, her face brightened up.
“Olivia wants to ask you how it’s going.” She had a smirk on her face.
“Tell her your about to find out.” Her face changed and stared in front of her. Her expression read an awe, and the smile on my face grew wider.

Chapter 15: Never Ending
First, I want to be able to thank everyone who read my story. I should be adding more to it some time. Also, to everyone who wanted me to keep writing! I will be writing a new book called “Dawn of the Awakening”. It will be in Chancellor point of view. But thank you again and here’s the chapter!
~~~<>~~~
The ride back to Wyoming had been silent. We didn’t know really what to say. So much had gone on in such a short amount of time…
“Are you ok?” Chancellor asked as we pulled up in my driveway.
“Define ok?” I stepped out and looked at my house, still welcoming me. We walked inside and I put my car keys on the counter in the kitchen. I stood, staring at the wall. Chancellor walked up behind me and put his arms around my waist.
“I know a lot has happened. But they’re gone. You can forget about them…” He kissed my head. I turned around.
“Just because they’re gone, doesn’t mean others aren’t.” I began to pace. “They are other vampires around the world, in other worlds, that want this amulet. It’s not over…” I sighed and took the amulet off and held in by the chain in my palm. “This is the duty my sire held for me. To protect something that will always need protecting. I just have to figure out how to do more…” I walked to my room and opened the chest with the little box, and placed the amulet inside. “Until that time comes…” And I walked out the room to be in Chancellor’s arms, hopefully away from the upcoming madness that will strike again….
Chapter 14: Castle
The castle had shown bright in the moonlight. Candles and torches were lit. I pulled up to the side. They are here. I sighed and got out of the car. The stone steps, welcoming me back.
“This is it.” Chancellor stated. He was next to me, and we both walked up the steps and opened the great doors. A body lay motionless on the middle of the floor with a stake sticking out of its body. Olivia. I ran up to her body, pulled the stake out. Her eyes opened and she gripped my shirt.
“Zoe!!” She gasped.
“Yes, I’m here, Olivia. Here to save you.”
“Zoe….” Chancellor said and clapping overwhelmed his cry. I turned around. Lance was standing on the side, clapping his pale white hands and his “innocent” smile.
“I knew you’d show up here, for this peasant. “ He spat and began to walk up to me. Chancellor was on my side in a second. “Ahh and you brought your boyfriend for protecting…” He laughed.
“What makes YOU think I need protecting, you pathetic excuse for an immortal. I spat back at him. He just continued to laugh.
“Aren’t you so cute, darling? That’s the reason why I always loved you. Feisty, but there’s a good fight inside you.” He was in front of me. Olivia started to get up and Chancellor stood in front of me.
“I DON’T NEED PROTECTING!” I shouted, moving Chancellor out of the way. “I can fight against this.” I pointed.
“Can you now?” He smiled. 20 vampires surrounded us. “And what makes you think you can?” He laughed. “It’s simple, you know what we want, just give it to us.” I put my hand on the amulet.
“Never.” I said.
“Never? Well, I wouldn’t be to certain….” He grabbed a stake out of his coat and stabbed Chancellor. Chancellor’s eyes turned bright white, and his body fell to the floor. All I could do is watch in horror. Behind me, Olivia was also stabbed yet again. “Who’s here to fight your little battles, Zoe Boe?” He stroked my cheek, but I clawed his hand, gashes filed his hand. He winced.
“You bitch!” He screamed. I got down to the ground where Chancellor’s still body laid. “Torturing, isn’t it? To see the one you love. Face reality, Zoe. If you give me the amulet, your life along with theirs will be spared and maybe you could even rule with me. A queen Sang sue. Rule with me, Zoe, and vampires will be the dominate species on EARTH!” He yelled. I looked up.
“I will NEVER rule with you.” I got up. “You’ve always lived in your little fairytale world, WELL THIS IS REALITY!”
“Reality is what I am living. You just need to bring the fairytale world to life.” He smiled. “Give me the amulet, Zoe. Your love and your best friend will live. You don’t want to see them burn to death in the accountants of yourself, do you?” I felt tears again. I can’t give it to him… But if I do, Chancellor and Olivia’s lives will be spared. I’m not strong enough to see them burn… But the whole world will become of evil… But… if…
“Fine.” I closed my eyes and grabbed the amulet off my neck. “You want this?” I threw it at him and I went to the ground to pull the stakes out of Chancellor and Olivia, they both gasped again.
“Zoe…” Chancellor coughed. “ZOE WHAT DID YOU DO?” He stared at Lance with the amulet in his hand.
“I gave it to him…” I closed my eyes.
“No…”
“Yes, she did. The Naïve and the Sangsues will rule.” Lance smiled. “Tristian, come here” A broad man came by Lance.
“Yes?” He asked.
“We need to make way for the coronation…” Lance replied.
“Yes, Lance.” And he motioned all the Sangsues to follow him into the manor. I got up.
“YOU SAID YOU WOULD END THIS IF YOU HAD THE AMULET!” Lance just laughed more.
“I am ending it, my Zoe. We are getting married. Then we will rule the world, just like your sire had wanted of his final destiny.”
“MY SIRE DID NOT WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH YOU HORRIBLE THINGS!” I screamed more.
“Are you sure about that? I think his intentions were simple… You agreed to give me the amulet, Zoe. And since it is now mine, I control anything I want… Including you…”
~~~<>~~~
Three hours had passed since the confrontation. Forced into a make-believe wedding, they handed me a dress and I had taken it.
“You can’t do this, Zoe. Please, don’t do this.” Chancellor pleaded.
“I have to… there’s no other choice…” I walked out of the room and down the broad steps; Lance met me at the bottom.
“And now, you’ll finally be mine.” He smiled and held his elbow out just like he had at the castle. I yet again took it and we made our way to the manor.
There was a man in robes standing on the end and we hurriedly made our way down. Chancellor and Olivia behind me. They’re minds raged in anger. I know what I’m doing, don’t I?
We ended up in the end where the man stood. He did the traditional vows.
“And Zoe Albridge of the famous Albridge family, do you take Lance to be your husband?” I stared around the room and looked at Lance’s neck, which barred the amulet. It was pulsing colors now. Warning me it was in wrong hands. Lance stared up at me with hatred. His mind commanding me to say I do.
“I……” I started, and looked at Chancellor. His face a complete twist of furry.
“Well?” The man questioned. I closed my eyes and found the image of the amulet in my mind. The way it was pulsing, telling me to get it. To grab it from the leader Sang sue. I felt my mind reach out and grab the amulet. I had the control to get it… away from him…
“I DON’T!” I screamed and held my hand out. The amulet shinned red and went into my obeying hand. I quickly pulled it on. 50 Sang sue followers swarmed me. I motioned my hands down and the thing circle around me collapsed and so did the ceiling. Bursting into flames, it fell on the vampires. The agonizing screams came from their burning corpses. I jumped over the burning flames and moved by Chancellor; Lance’s burning eyes stared into mine. He too, jumped over the flames.
“I will teach you something that you will….” He paused. Olivia was behind him with the wooden stake he stabbed her with. It pierced into his body and his eyes too, went bright white and he fell on the floor.
“What do we do?!?” Chancellor yelled. I remained calm. My eyes pulsing along with the amulet.
“We get out of here.” We ran out the door as the whole castle started on fire. I stood in front of the stone steps and closed my eyes, imagining the castle demolished. I opened my eyes open again and stuck out my hand. The castle’s top began to tumble. Just like I pictured. It kept falling and falling till the castle bore only rubble, fire, and the large stone steps that used to hold the gigantic stone castle…

Chapter 13: France
Silence filled the little compact rental car. I had yet to forget where the castle was, and my fluent language. Trees and newer buildings blurred by as I drove. The street signs and the landmarks looking like a country I never vowed to live in.
“Ughh, I thought this would be easier! It’s like I’ve never been here before!!” I shouted, hitting the steering wheel.
“We should stop and ask for directions.” Chancellor responded. It would be the best way.
A gas station came up to the right. I turned off and parked in the front. The lights were still on. We got out of the car and into the small gas station. A small older lady sat behind the cash register.
“Bonjour, Madame et monsieur. Puis-je vous aider?” She asked what she could help with.
“Je dois trouver le Château Castelnaud.” I stating, saying I need to find the castle. She smiled.
“Ahh, we-we, en bas la rue à gauche.” Down the street on the left, she said. I nodded my head.
“Merci.” I thanked her and we walked out.
“Not much to that was there?” Chancellor smiled.
“The problem isn’t getting there…” I got into the car. “It’s coming back…”

Chapter 12: Gateway
The fake passport passed through the gateway check. Chancellor and I were walking into the terminal with others.
Being in an airport made me get a headache. All the people inside one place and the people who worked at the desks thinking what else could go wrong with their life. They have no idea.
The terminal was small. We sat down with some of our carry-on bags and waited to be called.
“When we get there, where should we look first?” Chancellor asked.
“The one place Lance and the others want me to be… The Castle.” Chancellor looked at me questioningly.
“You’ll find out when we get there.” I looked at the passing by people. A father came out of a door and a little girl ran up to him screaming Daddy. I envied her.
“I’ll be there to help you.” He grabbed my hand.
“You know the hell hasn’t risen yet. If they ever get a hold of this amulet, they could destroy existence.” I stated, recalling what my sire told me before. Never have them get a hold of this. Especially Lance…
“I know…” He looked down just in time to hear our plane number read.
“Time to go.” I said, and we got up and walked onto the airplane for our hell-filled journey back to Paris…

Chapter 11: James
Night had fallen in a reasonable amount of time. The headlights of my BMW bounced off the trees as Chancellor drove. I was wondering who this James man was. But obviously Chancellor knew him. A small beep broke the silence and Chancellor pushed a button on his Bluetooth.
“James, Its Chancellor… The only Chancellor you’ll ever meet? Hah, told you. Listen, I’m coming by on a short notice…” I stared out the window as he talked. “I have a need for your service, again…” I looked at Chancellor; he continued to stare out the window. “Yeah, I need two… Ha-ha, that joke never seems to run out of style. We’ll be there in about 5 minutes… You’ll see!” He hung up the phone and smiled. “That guy is something…” I looked at him. “Don’t worry,” He put his hand on my lap. “I’ll introduce you to him. I think you’ll like him.” I put my hand on his.
“The only thing I’m worrying about is Olivia.” I did a quick smile as we still drove into darkness…
~~~<>~~~
A small home came into view. The front curtains were pulled back to view a cluttered living room, and a short man sitting on the couch. We parked behind a small black Sudan and got out. The man noticed us and walked outside, smiling.
“Chancellor! He came out and pulled his jacket more around him and shook Chancellor’s hand. Chancellor pulled me closer to him.
“This is Zoe.” James stared at me for a minute. The usual, then shook my hand.
“Nice to meet you, young lady.” Yeah right… I smiled at him.
“OH, mind my manners, please come inside.” He opened the door, and we walked inside.
The small living room was scattered with pictures and papers. The door closed behind us.
“I’m sorry my house is a mess, I didn’t know you were stopping by so soon.” He cleared off the couch and motioned for us to sit. We lightly sat down.
“Now which service do you need?” He smiled and sat down himself.
“We need passports.” Chancellor spoke. I looked around the walls. Old photos of families bared the walls.
“Ahh, going to another country, eh? Do you need ids as well?”
“No, we have our ids. How long do you think I will take to make the passports?” Chancellor asked.
“About 3 days? I don’t have many customers anymore, so you’re in luck!” He got up. “Ok, all I need is a copy of both of your Id’s…” We handed it to him and he walked into another room.
“So this is your good friend?” I got up and walked around. Chancellor laughed and got up.
“He’s more of an old friend. Comes in handy!” I walked towards the wall. “Hey!” He turned me around. “We will get her back…” I grabbed the amulet.
“I hope…” I sighed. Chancellor put his arms around me as James walked back into the room.
“OH Uhmm, I’m sorry, am I interrupting something?” I smiled
“No.” I laughed. He handed our ids back.
“Thank you again, James.” Chancellor shook his hand and I nodded my head.
“See you in 3 days.” Chancellor opened the door and we walked out.
Chapter 10: Sangsues
Olivia had been gone for nearly a week. My mind still drifted to the last time I had seen her… If only the future reading would have came sooner. Even when she was at my house…
I knew where the Sangsues had taken her. Back to France. Where I should still be… But the most important thing was why… Why do they need me so desperately that they find out about Olivia and take her back to Paris…
Sulking around the home hadn’t done much, so I finally got up from the chair. My laptop lay unused in the dining room. I gently come up to it, pull out a chair and open it up. It responds with a bright white screen, than vaguely began to turn on. I felt Chancellor’s hands on my shoulder, and then he pulled out a chair for himself.
“What are you hoping to find on here?” He asked.
“I don’t know. I guess just to look at old emails or something…” I click on the yahoo page. It pulls up 30 unread messages. I click on the number. About 20 of them were spam. 6 were Abercrombie, 3 were Hollister, and one layout of question. There was no return email, nor subject. I clicked on it. A link was all that was on there. I click on that and press full screen. A man’s face came upon the screen, the man that was in the forest with the stake… and took Olivia.
“Hello, Zoe Albridge,” He smiled. Chancellor put his hand on mine, yet I didn’t lose eye contact to the video. “You’re probably wondering, why am I here? Why did I take your little, oh what’s her face, and bring her back to France. You relay all the answers, Zoe. I know you know what happened to your friend. Your Chancellor has a special power that we know about. You probably also know who we are too. You seem to have all the answers. The question is Zoe, do you remember what we need from you… what you seem to carry, what your sire left to you…” I stared blankly into the screen. Chancellor stared at me. Memories flashed in front of my face, taunting me to release them. It was a losing battle, and I soon gave up.
The brightly lit moon shone bright in the prelit sky, the stars twinkling happy idly along with it. I climbed the huge stone steps to the castle before me. The huge hallway was lit with fire torches as I made my way down to the manor.
The biggest vampire gathering was upon us. Grande Réunion Immortelle, Great Immortal gathering. The only time in vampire history that we could gather together. I’m sure my sire had plenty to discuss.
In front of me stood 2 huge wooden doors. I’ve been through them before, but this time, it was different… Just as I was about to open the doors, Lance Blanc walked in from behind me. His face a radiant sun of happiness. I rolled my eyes at his arrogance. Lance was how you say, a stuck up 20 year old who wished he could do more with his life. But, all he ever did was try to impress me.
“Zoe, I see you’re here!” He smiled, took my hand, and kissed it. I fake smiled back.
“My sire owns this castle, remember Lance?” I put my hand down. He began to laugh.
“Of course, my dear. I’m not of a simpleton. Are you ready to join the others?” he held out his elbow. I had no use but to take it gently. He pushed open the doors, and we walked inside. Vampires from all over the world, swarmed inside. Some I had seen, some I had not. I saw my sire, and ran to him, leaving Lance behind.
“Sire, this is dashing!” I shout, a smile on my face. He looked at me.
“Zoe! I was beginning to wonder where you were.” He quickly looked around. Lance was staring at us from the other side of the room. I felt his thoughts penetrating to where I was standing.
“Kill the sire.” Shouted Lance’s mind. I stood still. My sire grabbed my shoulder.
“Zoe, may I speak to you in the manor hall?” His voice still. He had heard Lance’s mind to. All I could do was nod my head and we walked into the other room.
“You know just as well as I what Lance’s mind is swarming with. He wants to bring back his father’s legacy, Sangsues surnaturels. My destiny tonight is to die in vain. He will complete his penetrating thoughts, Zoe. He wants the Amulet.” I looked down at my sire’s neck. A bright red jewel hanging on his neck, glowing.
“Sire, you must leave, far away from here. You can’t just have them slaughter you!” I whisper-shout. My sire shook his head.
“No, Zoe. My destiny is to die in vain. I must not flee my people. But you can…” He took off the amulet and held it out to me. I took it, the power swarming around inside my mind. I felt my eyes glow for a mere moment.
“Why me?” I ask.
“Your destiny is with mine. I can no longer trust anyone but you… You need to run, to another country. Anywhere where you can keep the amulet and the vampire power safe, away from the Sangsues. I will hold Lance and his members off. Please go now.” Tears streamed down my face. I felt like a small human girl again. All I could do was nod, and run off, seeing my sire, the castle, everything I loved rush by me, in a small blur…
I blinked off the final, painful memory as Chancellor shut the computer. I got up and went to the bookshelf in the living room and pulled out a book. Inside held a small key. I took it and walked to my room and sat in front of the old barren chest. I took a deep breathe, Chancellor sat next to me, and I opened the chest. Inside held letters and a small wooden box. I took the box out and set it on my lap, unlocked the box and opened it. The red glowing amulet shinned. I grabbed it and held it within my hand. Power swirled around once more as it had when my sire had given it to me. I never thought I would have to bring it out again…
“This is what they want…” Chancellor said, breaking the silence. I nodded and looked back to it.
“And this is how we are going to get Olivia back.” I stated, and put the amulet around my neck. “We have to go to France, that’s where they have taken her.”
“I have an idea…” Chancellor smiled and helped me up. “James…”
Chapter 9: Rescue
The many streets pass by as I begin to search for Olivia’s road. I tried calling her cell about 5 times, yet the same voicemail comes on. “Hi, you have reached the shopping queen’s cell. Obviously, I’m not here or something so leave a message!”
“IT’S NOT THIS ONE, KEEP GOING!” I shout at Chancellor. His mind a worry about Olivia and how I will cope.
We pass by an intersection and I tell him to go right. A small dirt hill up on the next shoulder. I tell him to turn and a dense forest swallows the Miata. A house pulls up in front and I jump out of the car. I can hear Chancellor behind me. I run up to the door and open it.
“OLIVIA!” I scream. No answer. I know she’s not in the house. I smell around and follow her trail. It leads out the back door, and I break into a run. Not just a human run, an agility immortal run. I let go of everything and just made sure that I focused on her scent. It went windingly through the trees and into the dense brush. I feel her past thoughts about finding something in this forest, and realize I’m getting close. Hopefully to her and not to a trap. I stop for a moment, Chancellor beside me, and smell around. Nothing, I run a little farther till Chancellor grabbed my arm. The scent of vampires whirled. He led me to a tree. A little farther, the clearing and a bridge. I felt Olivia’s fear pulse into my own. She was still there. I quickly moved closer. The Sangsues were surrounding her. I was about to rushing into the clearing when Chancellor stopped me.
“You can’t save her now, they are already here, and looking for you.” He whispered. I looked back. The man was approaching her with the stake. I turned my head and heard Olivia’s cries, then silence. I cried and Chancellor put his arms around me. The Sangsues took off with Olivia’s body… and I stood there, endlessly crying, to do nothing…
Chapter 8: Future
A car quickly drifted up the driveway as Chancellor and I were watching TV. His arm eluded around my neck. I finally felt I was perfect.
There was a swift knock on the door as it opened. Olivia walked into the living room with a huge smile on her face and a present in her hand. Her mind was closed to all thoughts she presumed at that moment. I turned around and Chancellor followed suit.
“ZOE! I haven’t seen you in forever. And Chancellor…” She stopped. Chancellor put his hands around my waist and I laughed. Her expression dumbfounded.
“I know! Oh Olivia,” I got up and gave her a hug. Her mind a vast wave of questions.
“Zoe, come with me in the other room…” She took my arm and led me to my room. I shrugged at Chancellor; he went and looked back at the TV.
“Explain” Was all Olivia said. She crossed her arms and tapped her foot. I started to laugh. Her mind imagined me and Chancellor together. I nodded. “Wait… are you serious?” I laughed and nodded again as her face lit up. She gave me another hug. “Awe that’s so CUTE!” I just rolled my eyes. I didn’t think cute, I thought out of ordinary?
“Yeah… I guess hah.” She released me and handed the gift into my arms. I gladly took it. It was a small little wrapped up box. Jewelry… I opened it up and inside was a crescent moon in white gold. I stared at it, and then back at Olivia. She smiled.
“Do you like it? I know you always love to see the…” I hugged her
“ARE YOU KIDDING? I LOVE IT.” I smiled at her.
“I’m glad you do. Crap, I better get going I need to go hunting. I’m glad you and…..” She paused.
“Chancellor?”
“Yeah! Are together. Call me, Zoe Boe.” And she left. I saw my reflection in the mirror. I was smiling. I looked in the palm of my hand. The Crescent moon gleamed back at me. I unlatched it.
“Need help?” Chancellor was leaning against the door.
“Uhmm, sure.” I handed him the necklace and he went behind me. I pulled my hair up and he put it delicately on my neck and put his arms around my waist.
“Did I ever tell you that I love you?” I looked into the mirror.
“No, why?” I asked.
“Because I do.” He smiled back into our reflections. I smiled too. A picture perfect Kodak Moment.
“And did I ever…” His face went blank and his mind rushed into a scene…. A reading of the future…
The speed, the agility, the velocity… Olivia is running through the forest, looking for some sort of life… anything. There is a clearing in the center. A bridge. She runs towards it and stops in the middle. She looks around. Nothing…
Just is she was about to take off, a scent fills her mind. She looks around. Nothing is there… She started to take off, but a man in a black robe walks out of the forest.
“Olivia,” You can tell he’s grinning. The scent of vampires filled her mind.”We’ve been looking for you.” 20 vampires jumped down from the trees and surround her.
“What do you want?!?” She shouts. The vampire only laughs more.
“You know what we want…” He heads towards her. “Your little friend… What’s her name? Zoe Albridge? Ahh rings a bell doesn’t it?” Her body turns around. She surrounded. “You don’t want to think you’re going to escape… Olivia.” The man laughs again and pulls a stake out of his cloak. “I will make sure you don’t….”
I jolt back to reality and realize I’m crying. Chancellor is still holding me. I grab my necklace that Olivia gave to me and turn around.
“WE NEED TO FIND HER, GET TO HER BEFORE THEY DO!” I shout. I run to the kitchen to get my keys. I hear Chancellor jingling his.
“Come with me, my car will be faster…” We run to his car, he turns it on and we rev away to hopefully find Olivia… still in Casper and not with the Sangsues….
